    Default Another Project?

Looking at starting a little 'side project' to go along with the Chris Craft. Neighbor has been holding onto it for a while, doesn't see much chance of fixing it up himself, and is willing to let it go REALLY cheap. Cute little boat (~12'), cones with a trailer and controls but needs quite a bit of work. I'm going to do a little research on it and see what I can find out before I take it/ start another project. Here are a couple photos though...

Gonna need some major fiberglass work- all new stringers, and a couple repairs on the upper deck. Hull looks basically sound though. Transom is pretty questionable- tiny projects compared to past projects though! I'll keep y'all posted!

Really Cap'nRay? Me thinks you've been dipping into the eggnog.

Nope. No eggnog. It's a 1973 Valcraft- outer hull is sound, no wood core, trailer is pretty decent and the controls are all present and operational. Price can't be beat, it'll need all three stringers replaced and the transom probably needs cored (nidacore anyone?- it'd be cool to use it for its intended purpose for a change lol). Boat would make a great little run-about for us. Still researching but I think I'll get it and start cleaning it up to see what it REALLY needs.

That's the second consecutive December we've seen this project. I think it's the Holiday Season that makes Cap'n Ray sentimental for old boats.

All the best to you Cap'n Ray!

Actually, he missed last year. Must have wanted to save the biennial plants growing through the hull.
