    Does anyone have a install instruction for a GOOD windlass ???

    Hi Wally3128 and welcome to the forum.

    A good windlass will be one that is large enough to lift the weight you have (probably the anchor) but no so big that it tips the boat over. They will be either manual or electric and for the electric ones you will need to follow the manufacturer's instructions to weather proof the electrics.

    In either case remember that the pull on the windlass will be horizontal as the cable will usually go through a pulley before entering the water. Where you mount it must thus have enough horizontal strength to keep the rear bolts from ripping out of the deck.
